Twenty One Pilots fan steals band’s drum during Manchester show

At a concert in Manchester on May 11th, a Twenty One Pilots fan was filmed leaving the AO Arena with the band’s drum.

The American rock duo, consisting of Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun, are currently on the European leg of their ongoing The Clancy World Tour. They recently stopped in Belfast, Dublin, Paris, Birmingham, Cologne, Amsterdam, Madrid, Barcelona, Zurich and Prague before their Manchester show.

For the finale of their current show, the band enters the crowd for the closing track, ‘Trees’. They also spray water and confetti as they drum while their fans hold the instrument, with one member of the Manchester crowd seeing this as an opportunity to take off with the drum.

The moment was caught on film, which has since gone viral on social media.”No, I’m taking it,” the female fan can be heard seemingly saying before adding, “Why not?”, after receiving abuse from fellow concert goers who appeared to be incensed at her decision to take the instrument, belonging to the band, home.

Another shocked voice from the crowd can be heard saying towards the end of the clip, “Have I just witnessed a crime? Has she actually just stolen a drum?”

Sax On Tour, a videographer who travels with Twenty One Pilots on the road, has since confirmed that the band has been reunited with the instrument. He shared an image of the drum in the back seat of a car on Instagram along with the caption, “We have the drum!!!!!! Thank you for all the tags and information. You guys rock!”

Twenty One Pilots are yet to comment directly on the incident. Their tour will resume on May 13th at London’s O2 Arena, and they will perform at the iconic venue on two nights.
