With people like Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross behind the score for HBO’s Watchmen was always going to be impressive. But not many people could’ve predicted how great it would be. Now, Reznor and Ross have shared the music for the show’s end credits, in full.
Those watching on Sunday night will have heard much of the first two minutes of the video below but after that, it’s all brand new. With an additional couple of minutes of listening pleasure.
The video comes after the pair announced that they would be releasing three full volumes of the show’s score, with Volume 1 being released November 4th, the second follows on November 25th and Volume 3 arrives just in time for Christmas on December 16th.
In a recent interview with Variety Reznor said, “We reached out to Damon and the HBO camp when I first heard about it, because I’ve been a fan of Damon since Lost. I was completely blown away by The Leftovers. Also, as a big fan of Watchmen [in other incarnations], I appreciated the fearlessness that taking on that property and that IP would require. I thought, if anybody was to do it at any place, HBO and Damon sounds exciting to me.”
He added: “For Watchmen we’ve had the challenge of working almost blind, off a bit of a script for the first episode of 10. But we spent enough time with Damon to know that we’re kindred spirits.”
