Watch Kristen Stewart star in the trailer for Rose Glass’ new movie ‘Love Lies Bleeding’
The trailer for Rose Glass’ second feature film, Love Lies Bleeding, has been released.
Starring Kristen Stewart and Katy O’Brien, the movie has been described as a romantic thriller set in the highly competitive world of bodybuilding.
Glass made her debut with the British horror film Saint Maud, which critics highly praised. The film starred Morfydd Clark and Jennifer Ehle and explored themes of religion, sexuality and obsession.
Love Lies Bleeding, which Glass co-wrote with Weronika Tofilska, follows Stewart’s gym manager, Lou, who falls for O’Brien’s bodybuilder, Jackie. However, as the pair become involved with each other, Ed Harris’ character – Jackie’s dangerous father – enters the picture.
If the trailer is anything to go by, the film will be full of tension and bloodshed. The clip features ‘Smalltown Boy’ by Bronksi Beat, which serves as an interesting contrast to the violence depicted alongside it.
The movie also features Jena Malone, known for movies such as The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and The Neon Demon. Manchester By The Sea star Anna Baryshnikov and 21 Jump Street‘s Dave Franco appear in supporting roles.
Love Lies Bleeding will make its debut at the Sundance Film Festival on January 20th. An official widespread release has not yet been announced.
