Watch the trailer for new ‘Knives Out’ instalment, ‘Wake Up Dead Man’
The trailer for Wake Up Dead Man, the latest film instalment in the Knives Out trilogy, has been released, starring Daniel Craig and Josh O’Connor.
The series, helmed by director Rian Johnson, is set to return for its third and darkest turn later this year, with Craig once again taking on the role of detective Benoit Blanc, as a terrifying murder shakes up the town and he is called in to investigate.
Opposite him is an all-star cast including the likes of Mila Kunis, Josh Brolin, Glenn Close, Kerry Washington, Jeremy Renner, Andrew Scott, and O’Connor, who stars as a young priest by the name of Jud Duplencity.
The film is set to follow the story of a man who is murdered in a church following his delivery of a sermon to the congregation, prompting suspicion as Benoit Blanc arrives to question all of the churchgoers involved at the scene.
Wake Up Dead Man is set to arrive over three years on from the last instalment to the Knives Out universe, Glass Onion, which was released in 2022.
To this end, director Johnson pushed for the new film to have a longer theatrical release before hitting Netflix than its predecessor, and as such, Wake Up Dead Man will premiere as the opening gala to the BFI London Film Festival on October 8th. The film will then be released in select cinemas across the UK and Ireland from November 28th.
Speaking previously about his desire for the films to have longer cinematic releases before being transferred to streaming services, Johnson said to Business Insider: “We’re going to push for everything we can get in terms of theatrical, because I want as many people as possible to see it in that form.”
Following its cinematic run, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery will be released globally on Netflix on December 12th.
