Kult Country – ‘Trembling Moon’
After heading out to catch Hookworms’ first shows in several months over the weekend, we decided to delve further into what the band have been up to since the turn of the year.
As well as getting to work on the follow-up to their own debut, frontman MJ has also been locked away at his Suburban Home studios in Leeds.
He has taken on production duties for the debut LP from Manchester’s Kult Country.
The first fruits of this partnership are so enthralling that ‘Trembling Moon’ has been chosen as the focus of this feature.
If you need something of an uplift to kick the week off, look no further than this remedy of woozy shoegaze that doesn’t just rely on a pristine wall of sound production but also backs it up with riffs and melodies that stay firmly in your head from the first listen.
If this track is anything to go by, then the splash that Kult Country’s debut will make looks set to rival the kind of impact that their producer had himself last year with Hookworms’ inaugural record Pearl Mystic.
We dare you not to become hooked to this song.
