Actor Tom Hardy has insisted that more films of the Mad Max franchise will be coming.
It has now been three years since George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road scooped a handful of Oscars. Since then repeated speculation and gossip about future projects has been rife, yet no reliable source able to offer any concrete update.
Hardy, who took over the role as Mad Max from Mel Gibson, revealed during an interview with Variety at San Diego’s Comic-Con that “it was always the plan to do three of them.”
“We’re still waiting on the opportunity and the green light to do the next one,” he continued before adding that he’s seen “plethora of material on it.”
Rounding off, Hardy said, “as soon as it’s real, we’ll jump on it.”
