Tinder to roll out ‘Festival Mode’ to let you match with other attendees

Tinder is launching a new feature for users today called ‘Festival Mode’ which will allow music lovers that’ll let users add a badge to their profile that advertises the festivals they’ll be attending this summer. Users will be asked to make a selection on the Festival Mode card, which will tell others about where they plan to be at the festival.

Festival mode users will be able to select from 12 festivals in both the US and UK, including Governors Ball, Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, EDC Las Vegas, as well as London’s Lovebox. Each festival option will open up three weeks prior to each event with the app prioritising potential matches who are planning to attend the same festival and will show people from different area’s from all over the world who will be attending the event.

Tinder said when announcing the feature that it downloads of the app had increased notably during festivals. One example is Bonnaroo last year who they have partnered with where they saw downloads increase 300 times more than usual during the time. Looks like not everyone goes to festivals just purely for the music…
