Tiffany Haddish charged with second DUI
The actress and comedian Tiffany Haddish has been arrested and charged with a DUI after being found asleep at the wheel of her vehicle.
On Friday, it was reported that the star had been taken into custody. She had been found sleeping, hunched over the wheel of her stationary car with the engine still running. The Beverly Hills police department has since released Haddish, charging her with a DUI.
Haddish had most recently performed at The Laugh Factory comedy club the previous evening for their annual Thanksgiving celebration. The comedian will be put on trial on December 4th.
“After an investigation, we arrested her for DUI (driving under the influence), she was booked, and then she was released about an hour ago,” a representative for Beverly Hills police told the PA news agency.
Haddish was previously charged with a DUI in January 2022. Similarly, she was found asleep at the wheel of a car in Atlanta, Georgia.
She discussed the incident while appearing for a video interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon shortly after. “I got a really great lawyer, and we’re gonna work it out. And I gotta get my asking of things to God a little better,” she said.
