Ticket prices revealed for Black Sabbath reunion at Villa Park
Ahead of tickets going on general sale for Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne’s farewell show at Villa Park in Birmingham this summer, prices for admission have now been revealed.
The final show of Osbourne’s career will see the rock icon perform double duty, taking on a short solo set before reuniting with the original line-up of Black Sabbath for the first time in 20 years. Taking place on July 5th at Villa Park in Black Sabbath’s hometown of Birmingham, they will be supported Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Halestorm, Alice In Chains, Lamb Of God, Anthrax and Mastodon.
Notably, all profits from the show will be shared equally between the following charities: Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Acorn Children’s Hospice, a Children’s Hospice supported by Aston Villa.
Tickets for the concert are set to go on pre-sale on February 13th before general sale begins on February 14th.
The first batch of tickets went on sale on February 11th for a select number of fans who shared the pricing on social media.
Upon entering the waiting room for tickets, fans received the following message from Ticketmaster (via NME), “Tickets have been priced in advance by the tour ranging from £197.50 to £834 (including fees) with a per order handling fee of £2.75. Please note that this does not include VIP package prices, and tickets are subject to availability.”
In another message issued at 10:33am GMT, Ticketmaster stated that tickets were “now limited and options may vary throughout the venue” but maintained “additional tickets will be available during the general sale on Friday, 14 February at 10am.”
Upon announcing the show last week, Osbourne said in a statement, “It’s my time to go Back to the Beginning….time for me to give back to the place where I was born. How blessed am I to do it with the help of people whom I love. Birmingham is the true home of metal. Birmingham Forever.”
Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello is set to serve as musical director for the metal extravaganza, and said of the event, “This will be the greatest heavy metal show ever.”
Significantly, it will mark the first time in 20 years that the original Black Sabbath line-up, consisting of Osbourne, Bill Ward, Tony Iommi, and Geezer Butler, has performed together.
