Thom Yorke premieres new song ‘Plasticine Figures’

Thom Yorke put his appearance on The Tonight Show to good use by opting to premiere his new song ‘Plasticine Figures’ from his home.

Yorke has been clearly spending his time in self-isolation productively as the caption on the YouTube video for the track reveals it is newly finished and it is still unseen whether this is an early version of a potential Radiohead number or will be another weapon in his solo arsenal.

The Radiohead frontman recently had to postpone his solo tour of America from March until later in the year due to the ongoing situation which has also prevented him from taking to the stage at both Glastonbury and Coachella this year.

It has also been announced that he will begin presenting a radio show for Sonos, which will be free for Sonos customers which is a project that Yorke is excited to get stuck into, poetically stating: “Here in a new form is that ever rolling compilation / office chart habit of mine of putting together what I have found recently that fascinates or moves me, what obsesses me, challenges me, opens new doors, reminds me of what I might have forgotten, is insanely complex or elegantly simple, violent, funny, messy, heavy or light.”

“Whatever has hit me over the head basically. It may be new or old or just dug up again. With all this time we have behind doors I hope this provides a welcome connection and escape…and perhaps stops the walls closing in quite so quick.”
