England named the world’s second best tourist destination to visit in 2020
England has ranked high in the world’s best tourist destination for 2020 by travel experts Lonely Planet.
The new study has detailed England just one spot below Bhutan, citing the coastline, rock pools and ancient cliffs across 3,000 miles of scenery while, of course, referencing the classic fish and chips.
“Brexit uncertainties have dominated the headlines in recent years but one constant amid all the confusion has been the timeless treasures that England is famous for: the historic castles and cathedrals, the quaint villages and rolling countryside, and of course, the seaside,” the entry for England states.
It continues: “Taking a bracing walk on a windswept pier, eating delicious fish and chips, searching for marine life in rock pools, finding fossils in ancient cliffs, building sandcastles and dolphin-spotting on picturesque beaches are just some of the activities offered by the English seaside.”
Elsewhere on the list North Macedonia in the Balkans comes third which is closely followed by Aruba, eSwatini in south-east Africa which was formerly known as Swaziland.
