The Who to release orchestral ‘Live at Eden Project’ this May
The Who have announced that their iconic performance at The Eden Project in July 2023, alongside the Heart of England Philharmonic Orchestra, will be released as a live album.
‘Live At Eden Project’ promises to be a landmark live recording, capturing the emotive power and artistic ambition of their summer performance at Cornwall’s iconic Eden Project.
The iconic band strutted through 24 of their biggest songs at the show, opening with ‘Overture’ and moving into classics like ‘Pinball Wizard’ and ‘The Kids Are Alright’.
The performance ended with the three-song run of ‘The Rock’, their self-professed favourite, ‘Love, Reign O’er Me’, and the epic closer ‘Baba O’Riley’.
Fans can listen to the live version of ‘Pinball Wizard’ today for a first glimpse of the atmosphere, nuance and depth of the newly captured recording.
Interested parties can get their hands on various versions of the album; it will be available as a 2CD digipak, a limited 3LP gatefold edition pressed on recycled vinyl with no plastic shrink wrap and packed in a separate paper wallet, and a standard 3LP gatefold.
Last year, The Who embarked on their farewell tour, titled aptly The Song Is Over tour. The endeavour tour took place across August and September. Notable stops on the road include visits to iconic venues such as Madison Square Garden in New York, the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, and Fenway Park in Boston.
