The view from Far Out: Great Escape Festival, Brighton
Far Out Magazine headed down to the annual The Great Escape Festival held in Brighton over the weekend.
The three-day music festival, which has grown exponentially since being founded in 2006, hosts more than 450 bands across 30 venues throughout the city and offers a platform for emerging artists. Baked in the South Coast sunshine, Far Out sent down photographer Nina Rädel to capture the spirit of an event that has garnered serious respect on the festival circuit in recent years.
With an eye for talent becoming Great Escape’s secret weapon, the event has become a haven for alternative music aficionados who have grown to expect great things from the summer opener. Such is the diverse and well spread line-up of music, the event has no identified ‘headliners’ and instead spreads the day across evenly, offering talent at every one of their curated venues… it does make picking your schedule tricky though!
Far Out marked our bands out with ultimate proficiency, and managed to catch the sets of Bodega, Psychic Markers, Boytoy, Bully, Deep Throat Choir, Demob Happy, Drahla, Warmduscher and more:
