The Velvet Underground’s John Cale and Moe Tucker join to play ‘I’m Waiting For The Man’
John Cale and Moe Tucker, the only surviving members of The Velvet Underground, reunited to perform ‘I’m Waiting For The Man’ at a special Grammy event.
The track, taken from their 1967 debut record The Velvet Underground and Nico, was used to commemorate as part of the Grammy Salute to Music Legends concert. Cale played the Kurzweil keyboard and took the vocals for Lou Reed’s part, while Tucker played a woodblock beside Cale’s backing band.
Along with celebrating the Velvet Underground, the event will also honour the likes of Sly Stone, Nina Simone and Dionne Warwick.
