The Strokes have announced that they will re-release their second album Room On Fire on collectable coloured vinyl. The release of the 2003 follow-up to Is This It will come via Newbury Comics on April 14th.
Limited to 1500 copies and pre-orders already sold out the vinyl collectors among us need to have their ear pretty close to the ground if they want to get their grubby hands on the black and gold coloured vinyl.
The release follows the news that The Strokes will play their first UK gig in five years after they announced that they will join Blur by headlining a date at the BST Hyde Park shows (June 18). Supported by Beck no less.
With London being a somewhat spiritual home for the band they must be salivating at the thought of the huge crowd set to greet them. But for now the nerdier among us can just be happy with the re-release of great tracks like ’12:51′ and ‘The End Has No End’ on pretty gold and black. I think we need a life.
