The Snuts promise new album, ‘Joy In Short Moments’

The Snuts have announced their fourth album in five years, Joy In Short Moments, set for an October 23rd release via Happy Artist Records.

The Scottish indie-rock band released their debut album, W.L., in 2021, which went straight to the top spot on the UK Album Charts. Since then, both follow-ups have landed them in the top three on the official chart.

Discussing the new project, frontman Jack Cochrane mused, After three records of constant motion, I felt pulled back towards real life. Success, failure, parenthood and loss all found their way into these songs.”

He added, “Joy in Short Moments is the sound of reconnecting with what matters and learning to find meaning in the small things whilst navigating the questions: Who am I? Where should I be? Where am I going? What makes it all worthwhile?”

Beyond Cochrane, the rest of the line-up consists of guitarist Joe McGillveray, bassist Callum “29” Wilson, and drummer Jordan “Joko” Mackay.

The band’s self-assured sound comes from their history together: As they all met one another in school, Wilson has previously explained, “we’ve only ever really played music together so I can’t really imagine it any other way”

In 2023, the band broke away from the major labels to launch their own independent record label, Happy Artists. In an exclusive interview with Far Out at the time, the group explained, “I don’t think the system necessarily works for bands, and I think you’ll see a lot more (bands going independent) in the coming years.”

The band will embark on an extensive tour this autumn, with further details coming by the end of the week. For now, feast your eyes on the full tracklist below.
