The Shins cover The Smiths ‘Panic’
All is right with the world when two colossal indie stalwarts come together in an acoustic track. James Mercer of The Shins popped in to the Spotify Studios NYC to cover the enigmatic track ‘Panic’.
Mercer also played a version of the recent single ‘Name For You’ but it was The Smiths cover which really took the show. The intimacy of the track is undeniable, it is dark and shadowed with a sense of melancholy.
It’s all you needed from a The Shins / The Smiths collaboration, basically.
