Track of the Day over at Far Out is a sizzling piece of surf-tinged garage-rock courtesy of our favourite new Spanish trio, The Parrots.
Fresh from a whistle-stop tour of the UK, the band have now delighted even further by unveiling the feel good vibe of their latest offering ‘White Fang’, which is taken from the upcoming EP Weed For the Parrots – out on Luv Luv Luv/Burger Records, June 22nd.
The track is a playful piece of punk-inspired guitar pop that immediately grabs the attention with a spangly opening riff.
What follows is simple but effective, with two chords doing all the work. Sprinkle this solid foundation with a toe-tapping solo and a sing-along chorus and, in our opinion, you’re onto a winner.
The song continues the parallels that can be heard between The Parrots and our other much-loved Madrid-based rock ‘n’ roll experts of the moment, Hinds.
Just a few weeks ago we featured the two acts’ split 7″ cover single for Record Store Day, including The Parrots’ rendition of ‘All My Loving’ by The Almighty Defenders and Hinds’ version of ‘Davey Crockett’ by The Headcoats. Head here to listen to both.
However, if you’re already well-versed in the truly exciting sounds that The Parrots are coming out with right now, simply bask in Far Out Magazine’s Track of the Day ‘White Fang’, and enjoy the buzz of anticipation that is building for the Weed For the Parrots EP.
