The National joined an impressive line-up on a recent episode of ‘Later… With Jools Holland’ and performed two new tracks.
Playing two songs from their recent and much celebrated album Sleep Well Beast, the band treated the British public to ‘The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness’ and ‘Day I Die’ on the BBC Two program. “We didn’t feel like rushing it,” says guitarist Aaron Dessner, who produced Sleep Well Beast. “People thought the National went away, but we were just working on ideas,” a feeling that ultimately comes across well as Far Out scored the album highly. The episode also featured performances from Manchester icon Morrissey, Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme and Jessie Ware.
