The National’s Aaron Dessner has been using his time in lockdown effectively as the musician’s work with Taylor Swift on her new album folklore being the talk of the town.
The multi-instrumentalist had a co-writer or producer credit on 11 of the 16 songs and now it appears that he has also been working on new music for Big Red Machine, his side project with Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon.
Dessner took to Instagram to not only thank everybody for their kind words about his work with Swift but also to tease some new tunes from BRM. “5+ month studio bender continues,” he wrote as the caption for a photo of song titles named ‘Big Red Machine II’.
“Thank you to everyone who has reached out about folklore….so glad you’re enjoying it as much as I do. Still feels surreal to me,” added the musician.
“Profoundly grateful to have time and space to work and finish things — and so thankful for the many friends contributing to that music and this new @bigredmachineadjv music — everything feels related. I can’t wait to share it with you.”
The band look set to be releasing a new album very soon and we’re quite sure that it will see Dessner at his best as the multi-instrumentalist looks to continue enjoying his purple patch.
