New Zealanders The Naked and Famous have announced their long-awaited return along with the announcement from ‘Recover’ which will be available this coming May and have shared a second glimpse of the record with brand new single Bury Us.
The dance floor ready anthem premiered last Thursday as the soundtrack for NFL’s Thursday Night Football which acts as the follow up to Sunseeker which recently hit top spot on triple j’s most played chart in Australia.
It has been 10 years since they announced their arrival with their debut that featured the huge platinum selling single ‘Young Blood’ and the emphatic ‘Punching In A Dream’.
The duo is made up of Alisa Xayalith and Thom Powers who met back at music college in Auckland, ‘Recover’ is the pair’s fourth record and sees them carry on making the dreamy synth-pop that they have become so renowned for over the last decade.
Speaking in a press release, Powers had this to say on the powerful meaning behind the upcoming album: “Recover is about the duo, recovering ourselves, and our artistic vessel. The album is a statement of creative healing and a vehicle to plough forwards into our own future. We hope that the messages of healing and resilience have some effect on its listeners.”
