The man who first brought Oasis together has his say on reunion talk

The man formally charged with inflicting one of the greatest bands in history Oasis on the world, aka Paul ‘Bigun’ Ashbee, has had his say on proposed reunion talk and what it might take to get the brothers Gallagher back on the stage together.

Having known Liam Gallagher since he was 14, over 32 years, and introduced the Gallagher to Bonehead to form their original band The Rain, Ashbee is well-placed to offer an opinion on all the rumours.

Ashbee introduced Gallagher to Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthur while LG was working as a car valet for him. The two would go on to form the band The Rain which would later invite brother Noel Gallagher to the band as the songwriter extraordinaire. They would soon change their name to Oasis.

Ashbee thinks the key to a reunion with both Liam and Noel could lie at the feet of their mother Peggy Gallagher. “I really do think a reunion will happen,” Ashbee told Manchester Evening News. “I thought it would happen last year and a lot of people say today they’ll never get on but they’ve never got on.”

“It wouldn’t take much for them to get together. It would be a Christmas dinner or Peggy saying ‘come on boys, for your mum, for the people’.”

For the love of God lads, get it together over Christmas and headline Glastonbury 2019. For the people.
