It has been confirmed that our favourite curly-haired guitarist with a penchant for cricket, aka Felix from The Maccabees will cover for Foals’ Yannis Philippakis at their upcoming performance at Mercury Music Prize Awards.
The news comes after Yannis had “a run in with a knife” had seen the band cancel a high profile festival performance at Reeperbahn Festival. But with the Mercury Music Prize Awards arriving tomorrow, the band have enlisted friend Felix to help out.
On his Instagram stories drummer Jack Bevan took some footage of White learning the Foals set and captioned it: “Absolute hero @felixwhite is going to be playing the guitar with us at the Mercury awards tomorrow after Yannis’ hand misadventure.”
