The Libertines postpone London and Manchester dates amid speculation

Well, it didn’t take too long for a no-show, did it? The Libertines have had their first no-show performance of their second coming. The dates of London and Manchester have been postponed until further notice.

So far we are unsure exactly why the gig was postponed (at 11:30pm two hours after their listed set time) but it has led many to speculate that amongst the furore of the limelight being shone so brightly upon them again that they have succumbed to their old ways, namely Peter.

We hope not for the health of the band and the industry.

A statement from the band read: “Due to unforeseen circumstances tonight the Libertines have had to postpone their sold out shows at the Electric Ballroom in Camden and at the Ritz in Manchester tomorrow night. Peter, Carl, John and Gary apologise whole heartedly to their fans and will reschedule both shows as soon as possible. This will not effect any of The Libertines other commitments.”

So, what’s happened? Why? When will the new gig be? Well, it’s the Libertines; so who fucking knows?
