The Libertines announce Eden Sessions show with Frank Turner and Sports Team

London rock band The Libertines are set to perform a huge Eden Sessions show, and they’re bringing in Frank Turner and Sports Team for assistance.

The band will headline the iconic Cornwall venue on July 13th as part of the annual summer series.

“Heading to Cornwall for @edensessionsofficial,” the band wrote on Instagram on May 9th. Alongside Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls and guitar band Sports Team, Cornish natives Mên An Tol will support.

Rita Broe, Eden Sessions managing director, has said: “The Libertines are a band whose story is woven into the fabric of British music history – raw and uncompromising. To welcome them to the Eden Sessions for what promises to be an unforgettable, one-day celebration feels incredibly special. The event will bring together a standout lineup of exciting acts, who, combined, will be sure to deliver a passionate and powerful day – a fitting finale for this years’ Sessions season.”

The Libertines join a set of dates brimming with the biggest names in alternative music. On July 9th and 10th, Biffy Clyro will take the stage with Nova Twins in support. On July 12th, Madness will perform. Deftones will perform their headline set earlier in the summer, on June 26th.

However, Eden Sessions has cancelled one of its upcoming shows: Irish trio Kneecap were set to perform on July 4th, but the Eden Project banned the performance due to the counter-terror police investigation into previous shows.

Fans had no time to worry, as the group immediately announced a replacement show in Plymouth on the same date. Unfortunately, that show has also been cancelled.

The Libertines are playing plenty of other big shows this summer, stopping at London’s Gunnersbury Park, Dreamland Margate, and The Piece Hall in Halifax.
