‘The Hunger Games’ actor arrested for alleged intent to kill

Ethan Jamieson, a 27-year-old actor who is known for his role in the dystopian teen movie The Hunger Games, has been arrested and charged with assault after allegedly attacking three men with a handgun in North Carolina.

Jamieson played a District 4 male tribute in the 2012 film adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ best-selling novel.

According to official documents cited by People, the actor was arrested on April 8th on three felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

The Raleigh Police Department added that the incident took place on March 22nd, when they were alerted to shots being fired near 10 pm.

When arriving at the scene, police came across the victim, “who reported that an unknown suspect riding an e-bike had fired a shot at their vehicle while they were driving.” Two other people were in the vehicle.

The Raleigh Police Department continued, “During the course of the investigation, detectives identified Ethan Jamieson as the individual who discharged a single gunshot in the direction of the victims’ vehicle.”

The child star was denied bail and will next appear in court on April 30th.

This isn’t the first arrest Jamieson has experienced. In March 2025, he was arrested for resisting a public officer; he was sentenced for that offense three days after the alleged recent incident, before he was officially arrested in connection with the shooting.

Elsewhere in The Hunger Games universe, a new installment to the beloved series is currently underway. At the end of last year, it was confirmed that co-leads Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson will officially return to the franchise.

The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping has bagged an incredible cast; Jesse Plemons will star as young Plutarch Heavensbee, played by Philip Seymour Hoffman in the initial film series, and Ralph Fiennes as a younger President Snow. Returning actor Kieran Culkin has landed the role of Caesar Flickerman.
