The Hanging Stars set to play two London shows after sharing new track ‘Endlessly Aimless’

The Hanging Stars will play London’s Islington Assembly Hall tomorrow after sharing new track ‘Endlessly Aimless’ the B-side to single ‘The House on The Hill’.

The House on the Hill was officially released today after the band host their single launch tonight at Hackney’s Shacklewell Arms, and will support The Clientele at Islington Assembley Hall the next day.

The B-side of their new single is ‘Endlessly Aimless’, which was recorded in Lake Hollywood, LA with Rob Campanella – who previously worked with The Brian Jonestown Massacre – and features San Fransiscan Chrystof Certik on lead guitar.

The A-side “The House on The Hill” is a murder ballad about a poor girl who drowns herself in the sea after having her heart broken. Partly a true story, the track was also inspired by an entry in a book of traditional songs gathered by folk music archivist Alan Lomax. You can watch the video directed by Paul Kelly of St Etienne:
