The Great Escape 2026: First wave of acts confirmed

The Great Escape festival has officially confirmed its first 50 acts for the weekend event set to take place in May 2026.

Notably, the festival has announced that Irish indie folk trio Kingfishr will headline a Spotlight Show at Brighton Dome Concert Hall on May 14th, 2026.

The folk band are swiftly on the rise; their breakout track ‘Killeagh’, a tribute to a local hurling club, spent 18 weeks in the Irish Top 10. Their return to the festival will be ticketed separately from standalone tickets.

Alongside the news of Kingfishr’s Spotlight Show, the festival has unveiled another 26 artists to finally make up their first fifty names. New additions include DC3, Becky Sikasa, Bean Magazine, Little Grandad, Carpetman, Marlon Funaki, Sophia Thakur, and The OBGMs.

Also added to the line-up are Westside Cowboy, who are currently set to embark on a tour with alt-rock hot-shots Geese. Additionally, Piss, who Far Out recently praised for their display of “incredible and powerful hardcore music”, will be joining the fold.

Additionally, the line-up includes Canadian psych-rockers Meltt, Scottish soul-pop songwriter Becky Sikasa, who was recently honoured the prestigious BBC Radio Scotland Award Scottish Act of the Year 2025, and mysterious Ukrainian artist Carpetman.

These acts join a stellar line-up that already features the likes of Ain’t, Annie-Dog, Ashaine White, Ava Joe, Dermot Henry, Girl Group, Saint Clair, Tommy WÁ, Tukki, and more.

Meanwhile, DJ duo The Itch is set to bring limitless dance-punk to the affair.

There are still plenty of announcements to come, as The Great Escape plays host to over 450 up-and-coming artists and hotly tipped talent across 35+ walkable venues. It will take place on May 13th to May 16th in Brighton.

On the ground at The Great Escape in 2025, Far Out deemed the festival a “harmonious, a completely thriving Alt-Escape as Brighton’s local and independent scene not only picked up the slack but proved it could all be even better.”
