The Doors guitarist Robby Krieger announces first solo album in 10 years

Robby Krieger, the former guitarist of the iconic rock group The Doors, has announced his first solo album in 10 years.

The Ritual Begins At Sundown will arrive as Krieger’s ninth studio record to date and will be released through Players Club, a division of the Mascot label, on April 24th.

Krieger is famed for his work with The Doors, writing or co-writing a number of the band’s most iconic hits such as ‘Light My Fire’, ‘Love Me Two Times’, Love Her Madly’ and many more since joining the group in 1965.

Now though, Krieger’s signature innovative guitar work is featured only solo material and ‘The Drift’, the first track to be taken from his forthcoming new album, arrives as the first new material since 2010 effort Singularity.
