The Dillinger Escape Plan to reunite for 25th anniversary of ‘Calculating Infinity’
Six years after their disbandment, The Dillinger Escape Plan have announced a reunion show in New York next summer. The gig celebrates the 25-year anniversary of the metalcore band’s debut record, Calculating Infinity.
The band will reunite on stage at the Brooklyn Paramount on June 21st, 2024, to play Calculating Infinity in its entirety. Dimitri Minakakis will return to his role as frontman, supported by Liam Wilson on bass, Billy Rymer on drums and Ben Weinman on guitar.
Minakakis and Weinman founded The Dillinger Escape Plan in 1997, with former drummer Chris Pennie, before releasing their debut album Calculating Infinity in 1999. Despite receiving critical acclaim, particularly within the evolving metal sphere, the vocalist left the band just four years later.
Greg Puciato took up the role of lead vocalist until the disbandment, which culminated in a final show in New York in the winter of 2017. Now, Minakakis is set to take up the mic once more to mark 25 years since the release of Calculating Infinity.
In a statement, the returning frontman shared: “It’s been a long time coming for this opportunity to perform in a project I helped create over 25 years ago. Having the chance to celebrate 25 years of Calculating Infinity with my closest friends in live is just a dream turned real.”
Continuing to express his excitement, he added: “I’m looking forward to seeing all the old faces, as well as all the new ones. The Dillinger Escape Plan has always been more than just a band. We were a force of nature. This reunion show is our way of thanking the fans who have stood by us and the album we made in a small basement in NJ all those years ago.”
Presale for the show is live now, while tickets will be available to purchase by the general public this Friday, December 15th, at 10am.
