The Cure are the most Googled British band of 2019

The Cure have become the most searched British band of 2019 after wide touring culminating in a major headline show at Glastonbury festival.

Robert Smith and the band, who have been celebrating the 30th anniversary of their iconic eighth studio album Disintegration, were also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year.

While playing a wide-ranging string of shows throughout the past 12 months, The Cure also confirmed plans to release their first new album in years which is expected to finally arrive in 2020.

Now, as part of the end of year data reveal, Google has unveiled the most-searched musicians as part of their search engine. With R Kelly and his controversial sexual abuse allegations propping the list, the likes of Louis Tomlinson, Billie Eilish, Mötley Crüe and more have made the list.
