The Cure announce UK and Ireland tour for summer 2026
The Cure have announced that they are set to embark on a series of shows in the UK and Ireland across the summer of next year.
The band made the announcement via their social media channels on September 30th, revealing that they would be taking to stages in Dublin, Belfast, Manchester, and Edinburgh between June and August 2026.
It comes as the classic indie band had already been confirmed as headliners at a range of festivals over the summer period of next year, including at the Isle of Wight Festival, Rock en Seine in Paris, and Nova Rock Festival in Austria.
The band’s frontman, Robert Smith, previously promised late last year that The Cure would be hitting the road for an extensive world tour in 2025, although this ultimately never came to fruition, with the 2026 shows clearly taking place instead.
Despite this, Smith still managed a surprise guest slot at Glastonbury alongside headliner Olivia Rodrigo, performing two of The Cure’s most classic hits: ‘Just Like Heaven’ and ‘Friday I’m In Love’.
Although the band’s 50th anniversary as an outfit is fast approaching over the course of the coming years, they show no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Along with their newly announced tour, their most recent album Songs of a Lost World was released in October 2024.
In its four-star review of the album, Far Out said: “In Songs Of A Lost World, the exquisite guitar work and meticulously produced rhythmic cadences complement all the unspoken words, revealing a more immersive side to The Cure, where the haunt of a perturbed mind lingers in the subtleties. Ambience is a prominent force in modern music, and here its vagueness is anything but background.”
Fans can sign up to The Cure’s mailing list by 10pm on September 30th to gain presale access, before the general sale for their summer tour begins on October 3rd.
