The Brian Jonestown Massacre – Everything Is Very Simple

On Monday (November 10th), psych-rock legends The Brian Jonestown Massacre will release their brand new EP entitled ‘+-‘.

To honour the occasion – after we brought you the premiere of ‘The Heat’ a few weeks ago – the second offering from the release ‘Everything Is Very Simple’ is our Track of the Day.

Anton Newcombe and co stay true to the song’s title on this one too, with a meandering piece of minimalist fantasy that sounds as if it would be just as at home soundtracking a scene of serenity in arthouse cinema as it would the BJM’s notoriously raucous live shows.

In fact, we don’t actually hear Newcombe’s voice, instead the track is guided by a disorientating spoken word sample that sounds as if it was provided by a voice well beyond his years.

For fans of recent album Revelation, there will no doubt be a lot of joy to be had from the EP when it gets its official unveiling on a Records next week, but for now kick back and ease your way into the weekend with this otherworldly piece of transportation.
