The first large-scale trailer for Robert Pattinson’s The Batman has arrived and it also offers the first glimpse of both Catwoman and Riddler plus much more. It’s going to be one of the darkest DC films we’ve ever seen.
Matt Reeves new Batman film looks set to be a dark and twisted tale as we’re given the first full-length trailer to sink our teeth into. Reeves debuted the clip during the film’s DC FanDome panel following Warner Bros sharing a brooding image of Pattinson as Bruce Wayne.
The clip begins with Commissioner Gordon, played by Jeffrey Wright, receiving a classic cryptic clue from Riddler, played by Paul Dano. It’s a message that The Batman receives too and sets off a series of moody montages.
As well as some visuals for Reeves’ vision, the trailer also offered up a sneak peek at Zoe Kravitz’s Catwoman as well as the deranged serial killer Riddler. Of course, there is one moment in the clip which perhaps best tells the story that is about to unfold.
Batman is approached by a thug who seems to think he can take him on and asks who he is. After debilitating the goon in an unusually aggressive and exuberant fashion, the Batman says “I’m vengeance”.
Considering Reeves confirmed that the trailer is only made up of around 25% of the film, you can be safely assured that things are only going to get better.
