The 1975 thank “inspiring” Arctic Monkeys Brits speech
The 1975 frontman Matty Healy took the opportunity to thank fellow British band Arctic Monkeys for during a winning speech at the BRIT awards.
The band, who took home two awards at the ceremony, thanked Alex Turner and Co. for their “inspiring” work after The 1975 claimed the award for Best British Album.
Earlier in the evening, Healy and The 1975 managed to beat out competition from Arctic Monkeys to win the Best British Group category.
“[Thank you to] Arctic Monkeys for still being such an inspiring and relevant band in 2019,” Healy said when accepting his award. “I know how hard that is.”
“Thank you so much, we love you,” he concluded.
