The husband and wife duo of Alaina and Patrick, otherwise known as Tennis, have recently released EP Small Sound revealing glimpses of their forthcoming third album, produced by The Black Keys’ Patrick Carney in Nashville.
In her own words, Alaina describes the Scott Laidlaw directed video for ‘Cured Of Youth’:
“Fiction is better than reality, but science fiction is better than fiction. At least it is if you’re Scott Bakula in Quantum Leap, a late 80’s TV series I hadn’t heard of until a month ago. When I complained to a friend that I had finished every episode of Star Trek Voyager, Battlestar Galactica, X-Files, Firefly, the feature-film conclusion to Firefly, AND Caprica, and that I was now dealing with a sense of emptiness and overall malaise, my thoughtful friend recommended Quantum Leap. Later that week I cozied up to begin my first viewing but didn’t make it past the opening credits. Quantum Leap’s title sequence is of sufficient length and detail to constitute a summer blockbuster. In only three minutes it conveys every plot point of the entire series along with some pretty eye-popping special effects. I wouldn’t say I was hooked. I also wouldn’t call it an overnight sensation. Let’s just say this music video, directed by the bold and beautiful Scott Laidlaw, is the senseless continuation of that story.”
