London-based band Telegram already has history with the label head-honcho Dan Carey, having already produced their debut single ‘Follow’ back in late 2013.
“The decision to do a SW single was a spontaneous one” said the band, ‘It was a breath of fresh air amidst frustrations concerning the recording of the debut album. Dan taught us it’s as easy as having an idea to produce something and simply putting that plan into action, without stopping to worry about all the potential obstacles. It was all the more liberating as a result.”
Heading towards compilation number two – and off the back of releases with acts like Kate Tempest, Childhood, Loyle Carner and JUCE! the label’s focus is moving slightly more into working with newer talent. “It’s still steering itself,” said Dan, “but we just keep discovering more and more things that we like. The Speedy family is getting bigger.”
