Tame Impala shares Blood Orange remix of ‘Borderline’

Tame Impala has today shared the Blood Orange remix for ‘Borderline’.

The track has now received Dev Hynes’ Blood Orange treatment, a creative who recruited Porches’ Aaron Maine to play the drums on his take on the song, giving the track a more ambient feel to it. Hynes reworked the track completely with instrumentation. Last month saw Tame Impala share a brand new Four Tet remix of The Slow Rush track ‘Is It True’ and it puts Kevin Parker’s vocals into an even more ethereal place.

Kevin Parker and Tame Impala stopped by The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to run through a live rendition of ‘Borderline’. The track, featuring the lyrical introspection Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker has become known for with an endlessly catchy internal call and response chorus, appeared on the band’ most recent full-length studio album The Slow Rush.

The Slow Rush has been one of the standout records from 2020 so far, it arrived as the eagerly anticipated follow-up to 2015 effort Currents and has seen the Australian psyche band overcome repeated setbacks in its creation: “Part of the thing about me starting an album is that I have to feel kind of worthless again to want to make music,” frontman Parker said.
