Arctic Monkey’s forthcoming new album Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino could be set to feature contributions from members of Tame Impala and The Klaxons, according to reports.
Arctic Monkeys announced their new album, the follow-up to 2013’s AM, is out May 11 via Domino. The new album was co-produced by longtime collaborator James Ford and frontman Alex Turner, and recorded in three cities: Los Angeles, Paris, and London. (This album marks the first time Turner has co-produced an Arctic Monkeys full-length.)
The news comes as no surprise as last month Turner told a fan to expect new music from the band “soon” meanwhile drummer Matt Helders reportedly told a fan in a Sheffield takeaway that the album will be released in May.
However, the speculation that both James Righton of Klaxons and Tame Impala bassist Cam Avery are set to appear on the record will come as a surprise to fans. According to a listing from a German music vinyl retailer, the album features the band’s live keyboardist Tom Rowley, drummer Loren Humphries, as well as James Righton of Klaxons Zach Dawes and Tyler Parkford from Mini Mansions and Tame Impala bassist Cam Avery.
All the revelations could come as, according to a press release, Arctic Monkeys look to again “explore new musical terrain” onTranquility Base Hotel & Casino and that he new material “ups the ante in a big way”.
