Ringo Starr admits to believing Roger Daltrey was “crazy” for sacking son Zak Starkey from The Who
“Zak was not in a good space.”

Zak Starkey is an English musician, drummer and songwriter best known for his long association with the Who and for his work with Oasis. The son of Beatles drummer Ringo Starr and Maureen Starkey, Zak forged his own reputation through powerful, technically accomplished drumming rather than relying on his famous surname. Taught and encouraged by his godfather Keith Moon, he became the Who’s touring and recording drummer in the mid-1990s, helping carry on Moon’s legacy for nearly three decades. Beyond the Who, Starkey has performed with Oasis, Johnny Marr and the Lightning Seeds, and remains one of Britain’s most respected rock drummers.
