The E Street Band are an American rock band best known as the longtime backing band of Bruce Springsteen.
Formed in Asbury Park, New Jersey, in 1972, the group has become one of the most celebrated backing bands in rock history through its powerful live performances and enduring collaboration with Springsteen. Blending heartland rock, rock and roll, soul and rhythm and blues, the E Street Band has contributed to landmark albums including ‘Born to Run’, ‘Darkness on the Edge of Town’, ‘The River’ and ‘Born in the U S A’.
The band’s dynamic musicianship, led by figures such as Clarence Clemons, Steven Van Zandt, Roy Bittan and Max Weinberg, has played a central role in shaping Springsteen’s signature sound. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.
