“Such a human song”: the 1970 CSNY song that stands alone for Stephen Stills
A stand alone track on a folk-rock masterpiece.

Crosby, Stills & Nash were a folk rock supergroup formed in 1968 by David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash. Bringing together three of the era’s most accomplished songwriters, the trio became renowned for their intricate three-part vocal harmonies and thoughtful songwriting, helping define the sound of late-1960s and early-1970s folk rock.
Their self-titled debut album and the landmark follow-up, ‘Déjà Vu’—recorded after Neil Young joined the group—produced enduring classics including ‘Suite: Judy Blue Eyes’, ‘Marrakesh Express’, ‘Helplessly Hoping’ and ‘Our House’. The band’s politically conscious lyrics, celebrated live performances and appearances at events such as Woodstock established Crosby, Stills & Nash as one of the most influential vocal groups in rock history.
