PJ Harvey

PJ Harvey is an English singer-songwriter, musician, and poet who has been prominent in the alternative music scene since the early 1990s. Born in Bridport, Dorset, in 1969, Harvey began her music career as a member of various local bands before launching her solo career in 1991.

Harvey’s music is known for its raw, confessional lyrics, haunting melodies, and experimentation with a range of musical styles, including punk, blues, and folk. She has released numerous critically acclaimed albums over the years, including ‘Dry’ (1992), ‘To Bring You My Love’ (1995), and ‘Let England Shake’ (2011).

Harvey has won numerous awards over the course of her career, including the Mercury Prize in 2001 and 2011, and has been nominated for multiple Grammy Awards. She has also been recognised for her activism and humanitarian work, including her support for various charities and organizations working on issues related to human rights and the environment.
