Britpop legends Supergrass are in the middle of their reunion tour and last week saw the band arrive in Manchester only to be joined by a Mancunian legend, The Smiths’ guitarist, Johnny Marr.
The band were playing the O2 Victoria Warehouse and welcomed the guitar hero to the stage for a couple of numbers, one of which had Smiths fans leaving very happy.
The group took on ‘Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want’ with Gaz Coombes and Johnny Marr trading off vocals. The guitarist also stayed on stage for their 1997 effort ‘Sun Hits The Sky’.
The Manchester Evening News reported, Coombes introduced Marr as “the nicest fucking guy you’ll ever meet” and then introduced their performance with “This is like a dream! Here he is!”
