We’re big admirers of Sunflower Bean, the band who continue to show off their second album TwentyTwo in Blue, because of their honest and keen approach. And now they’re showing a little more with new track ‘Human For’.

The song moves away from the more melodic and folk-pop driven harmony of recent release ‘TwentyTwo’, which saw lead singer Julia Cummings channel her inner Stevie Nicks, instead ‘Human For’ is the band furrowing its collective brow.

Cummings in particular is in fierce form as she delivers line after line of disdain and discourse with a snarl to befit an angry pit bull. She declares, particularly poignantly, that she “Don’t need your pretension” alongside a rousing chorus.

All this is further proof that TwentyTwo In Blue, which is out on March 23rd, is set to be a banger.
