Stormzy is not only basking in the glory of the brilliant #MerkyFest, having smashed through a headline set while watching England beat Columbia on penalties, the artist has now announced a brand new book as well ads a publishing venture #Merky Books.
The imprint on Penguin House will give opportunity to writers who have so far not had the chance to be seen by more established publishers. #Merky will begin taking submissions and offering paid internships in 2019.
“I know too many talented writers that don’t always have an outlet or a means to get their work seen,” he wrote in a statement. “Reading and writing as a kid was integral to where I am today and I from the bottom of my heart can not wait to hear your stories, your poems, your novels, your sci-fis and then getting them out into the big wide world.”
Stormzy will kick off the imprint with his new book, Rise Up: The #Merky Story So Far, due out November 1st. According to Penguin the book will feature “never-before-seen photographs, annotated lyrics and contributions from those closest to him.”
It is available now via Amazon on pre-order.
