Stage times revealed for Stevie Wonder at BST Hyde Park in London
On July 12th, London’s BST Hyde Park will host Stevie Wonder and his incredible band, who will grace 65,000 fans with their unique amalgamation of R&B, soul, gospel, and jazz.
After breaking onto the airwaves in 1961, Wonder shows no signs of slowing down his music career. Now, he will be supported by the likes of Ezra Collective and Thee Sacred Souls at the massive show, which hosts three different stages.
At his last BST show in the summer of 2019, Wonder announced that he was undergoing a kidney transplant in September of that year. Though he has had many health issues throughout his career, Wonder performed an upbeat, vibrant show at the Co-Op Live Arena in Manchester on July 5th.
On July 12th, Corinne Bailey Rae will open the Great Oak Stage to perform from 2:30pm to 3pm. After, Elmiene will play 3:30pm until 4:10pm, followed by Thee Sacred Souls at 4:40pm until 5:20pm. Ezra Collective will fill the official support slot from 6:00pm to 7:00pm, and Stevie Wonder will headline for over two hours at 8:00pm until 10:20pm.
Over on the Birdcage Stage, Jon Poppii will open only for half an hour at 3:00pm. Lulu will play at 4:10pm until 4:40pm, and Mica Miller will finish off the stage’s display at 5:20pm until 6:00pm.
The Rainbow Stage will also host two acts throughout the day. First, Hajaj will play at 4:10pm until 4:40pm, while Durand Bernarr will play from 5:20pm to 6:00pm.
On July 11th, Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts performed on the very same stage, racing through classics such as ‘Harvest Moon’, ‘Name of Love’, ‘Throw Your Hatred Down’ and ‘Rockin’ in the Free World’. Those hoping to hear some of Wonder’s classics can be assured that he played all the big hits, such as ‘Sir Duke’, ‘Superstition’ and ‘I Just Called to Say I Love You’ at his show in Cardiff earlier this week.
The show’s tickets are fully sold out, but some are available on the American Express resale website for £50 to £607.
