Just over 10 years ago Sonic Youth and Jay Reatard got together with Matador Records to release a very special Record Store Day split single. If you missed it then don’t worry as you can get your hands on the 2009 release yet again.

The songs involved include Jay’s ‘Hang Them All’, which appeared on his final album Watch Me Fall, as well as Sonic Youth’s ‘No Garage’, which was composed especially for the release. The split single comes from Jay and Sonic Youth again as they look to give a little back, with all proceeds going to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

The split will be reissued to the public this Friday, August 2nd on streaming services and a sumptuous split black and white vinyl. It marks yet another chance to own some collectables from Sonic Youth after last year donating their gear to another charitable cause.

Listen to Jay Reatard’s ‘Hang Them All’ below.
