‘SNL 50’ announce Lady Gaga, Jack White and David Byrne among performers

Saturday Night Live has announced the acts that will perform live as part of their ‘SNL 50’ concert, which celebrates the 50th anniversary of the late-night show’s first broadcast.

SNL 50: The Homecoming Concert is scheduled to be broadcast on February 14th and will feature performances from Lady Gaga, David Byrne, The B-52s, Chris Martin, and Jack White, among many others.

In a social media post, SNL and Peacock, the NBC-owned streaming platform, announced the first wave of acts who will be appearing as part of the momentous anniversary celebrations, and have declared that further announcements with additions to the lineup will be made in the days leading up to the broadcast.

Former Saturday Night Live cast member and talk-show host Jimmy Fallon will MC the concert, which will kick off a series of shows dedicated to celebrating the show’s history and legacy. The programme’s creator, Lorne Michaels, will continue as executive producer, with music producer Mark Ronson assisting him.

In addition to the concert at New York’s Radio City Music Hall, the network will also broadcast a documentary about the history of the show’s musical guests, directed by Questlove.

Jason Reitman also directed a feature film titled Saturday Night. The film tells the story of the show’s premiere in 1975 and stars Gabriel LaBelle, Rachel Sennott, and Cory Michael Smith in the leading roles. It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2024.

The 50th season of the show began airing in September 2024 and has featured hosts such as Michael Keaton, Charli XCX and Paul Mescal, while musical guests have included Stevie Nicks, Billie Eilish and Timotheé Chalamet performing songs by Bob Dylan to mark the release of his recent film, A Complete Unknown.
