A vineyard in Portugal has created unique luxury wine barrels for guests to sleep inside. Wine lovers are able to take in the vineyard’s spectacular views from the deck of their own barrel cabin in the Quinta da Pacheca estate in Douro.

At the vineyard there are 10 barrels that have been designed by the owners Paulo Pereira and Maria do Céu Gonçalves. The 140 acre estate is a great place for anyone who is looking for a unique experience and the chance to enjoy what the estate has to offer.

The bedrooms are elegantly presented and made out of simple pine wood. The interior is minimal with a private bathroom that has a walk-in shower, large round bed and skylight so you can stare at the stars.

As well as taking in the views, a stay at the Quinta da Pacheca estate welcomes wine tastings, jams and olive oil sampling along with fine dining opportunities at their restaurant.

“Quinta da Pacheca created the wine barrels as a bold architectural project of suites to reinforce the originality of the wine tourism offered at the site,’ said a representative from the estate in conversation with Metro. “In an idyllic and romantic setting, these wine barrel rooms will provide visitors a unique experience of the nature and significance of the Douro wine region.”
